otsmieke ; moments of stillness
otsmieke is a Port Moody-based design practice dedicated to exploring the possibilities of shape and color. Our work embodies a philosophy of slow living, conveying profound emotions through soft minimalism. The name ‘otsmieke,’ meaning ‘pause and be still,’ is taken from the 1980s playground game of Tag in Taiwan, reflecting our belief in the beauty of simple tranquility.

Established in 2023, our workroom in Port Moody, BC, Canada, aims to achieve an ideal balance of playfulness and tranquility within spaces through art and design. Our projects primarily consist of wall objects that experiment with various materials, including wood and textiles. While pursuing simplicity, we also aspire to retain a dynamic quality.
